Purchase: Purchased directly from SnugPax (www.snugpax.com) six years ago. Paid about $50. Got tired of saddle bags that bounced around and fell apart, and these tightened onto the saddle and made sense.
Likes: The SnugPax bags are logical! Mine are six years old, and I'm just now replacing them with a new set. I probably could get another year or two out of them, but I just got new saddles and wanted a new set. They wash beautifully and have withstood lots of horse sweat, mosquito repellent, and other stuff being spilled on them.
The bags don't bounce around like regular saddle bags because they attach via velcro on in the right places.
Dislikes: After six years, the zippers are getting a little stiff, but that's expected based on what I've put them through. Although you'll pay a bit more up front for these high-quality bags, it's well worth it.
Quality: After six years of being used almost every week, when I wash them, they still look pretty good. The nylon and velcro has held up beautifully.
Summary: Finding a logical, durable set of saddle packs isn't easy. Although SnugPax bags are a bit more expensive, you'll have them and love them for a long time. A friend of mine has the Western cantle bag model, and she is likewise impressed.
