Likes: The Fox Poley is a Western/Aussie hybrid saddle. This saddle is extremely comfortable and secure. I use this saddle to train young horses in and have never been unseated. The Fox Poley is also very comfortable on long trail rides.
This saddle fits my Foundation Quarter Horse very well due to the custom fitting offered by the Australian Stock Saddle Co. Prior to purchasing, you are asked to fax a wither tracing so that the saddle can be adjusted to fit your horse.
Dislikes: The dye in the leather seems to be rubbing off under the fender and on the seat. I have only owned this saddle for two years and it looks much older due to the rub marks.
Also the saddle is a little heavier then I would like.
Quality: Very good with the exception of the leather dye. The leather itself is very supple and stitched securely.
Summary: I LOVE this saddle and can't stand to ride in anything else anymore. In fact, I'm constantly worried that I'm going to put on too much weight and "out grow" it. Whenever I think of pulling into Starbuck's for yet another Mocha, I just think "you won't fit in your saddle anymore", and I drive on by. I tell you, the Fox Poley is great motivator to stick to your diet! How many saddle can you say that about?
I would recommend this saddle to anyone who is thinking of trying an Australian Saddle or who currently rides a Western saddle-- you'll never want to ride in anything else.
I give this saddle 5 stars even with the rub marks. It's that good!
