Purchase: Bought saddle (used) from a tack store in Minnesota for $1700. It was the model I wanted and thought it was a fair price for the condition it appeared to be in. When I actually got it in Florida, it looked worst than the pictures and had a missing latigo keeper. Called Dale Chavez and they sent me out a new piece (leather and silver) so not that big a deal.
Likes: Gorgeous saddle and really high quality. The ride is awesome! It is my show saddle and I like it so much, I use it everyday as well. Fits my Appaloosa reiner and my big QH mare reiner. The cut out skirts allow my legs to move as I am short and it used to take a lot to get the mare to go. While this is obviously an older model, the quality and tooling give the saddle a classic look that never goes out of style. I wish I had 2 only b/c I am often in a mad dash between horses to get them both shown in it.
Dislikes: Long rear skirts that overreach my lesson pad. Otherwise, no complaints.
Quality: High quality and great materials. Chavez replaced the only worn part
