Purchase: I purchased a pair of Saxon Equileather Field boots online for $79 in early January 2008.
Likes: I had tried on numerous brands and styles of field boots, all synthetic as I was just beginning to ride english and take lessons. The Saxons were the only boots that fit properly, and were so soft they required NO breaking in period. I have been riding (lessons) once a week for 5 weeks, and have never had a blister or rubbed area from these boots, not even behind my knees.
For a beginner or someone who is not going to be wearing the boots all day every day, they are perfect.
Dislikes: There is nothing I do not like about the boots.
Quality: After 6 lessons my boots still look brand new. Other people in my lesson are so impressed by the comfort, look and quality (for $79) of my boots are planning to purchase their own. Even the trainer is impressed!
Summary: People need to be realistic about what they are buying, and not expect a $79 boot to be the same quality or last as long as a much more expensive boot. Even if they only last 6 months, I can buy a second pair and still spend significantly less than I would have for one pair of more expensive boots.
