Purchase: I acquired theses stirrups over a year ago at Wind & Withers online tack shop and I paid $149.99.
Likes: After having been away from horse ownership for quite a few years and having just acquired a wonderful off track Thoroughbred, I was determined to buy the best and most helpful equipment I could get my hands on to make my re-entry into riding an easy transition. However, I never thought that a pair of stirrups would change the way I felt while in the saddle until I slid these on my leathers and mounted my horse! After setting the stirrup at the 90 degree angle, I was able to effortlessly get my inside leg on his sides without any interference from the leathers and moreover, in turn, my heels went down and stayed down as an immediate reaction to getting my inside leg on my horse so quickly!
Dislikes: There is absolutely nothing to dislike about these stirrups
Quality: The incredible quality and construction of these stirrups are noticeable just as soon as you take them out of the box. The "eyelet" securely "clicks" into place when you adjust the 3-way angle, the weighted bottom is just right, not too heavy and not too light, the foot pad is made of a high quality rubber much unlike what you see on so many other stirrups and the shine remains a constant even after a year of use!
Summary: Are these stirrups a bit on the expensive side as compared to the basic fillis stirrup, "Yes, they are" BUT are they worth the $$$$ you will put into this purchase, "Yes, the stirrups are worth the $$$$ you pay for them because they are truly an investment into your training as a rider"!
