Purchase: I purchased this saddle last fall, after much searching, from someone on Craigslist across the country. I paid $310 for it, and it was easily the best saddle investment I've ever made (original price was over $1000). This saddlery is no longer in existence, so it is difficult to find these saddles.
Likes: I LOVE this saddle. It has a semi-cutback pommel for wither relief and the seat is deep and secure, yet easy to rise out of and very well balanced. This saddle was designed by the celebrated British eventer Lucinda Green for the Thoroughbred Saddlery, one of several models she designed. This one was meant to be the all purpose eventer, and it fits the bill perfectly, a TRUE all purpose saddle.
Dislikes: I would prefer that my saddle was wool rather than foam flocked, although the foam is in perfect condition. Other saddles from the company are wool flocked, however.
Quality: Excellent quality. Beautiful, soft, strong leather. Very long lasting, my trainer has one she has used nearly daily for the last 20+ years.
Summary: I would purchase this saddle again, and in fact I'm looking to do so. Although not generally well known, those who do know these saddles love them. Hard to find, but worth the effort of searching. The PERFECT fit for the Thoroughbred back, or any horse with a similar build.
