Purchase: I bought this saddle new on ebay because I had heard such WONDERFUL things about this saddle! I paid $1,075 for this saddle which was a great deal.
Likes: I LOVE the leather on this saddle...great quality French leather seat and knee rolls. I also liked the more forward flap than the original BdH. The color was beautiful as well. When I rode in this saddle, I felt very secure, as if my leg wasn't moving anywhere!
Dislikes: I HATE how hard it is to find information on this saddle. I searched and searched and searched and hardly found anything. One thing I wish I had found was the information on the tree size. This was a medium tree, however, INCREDIBLY narrow! I ended up having to sell this saddle because it didn't fit one of my 4 horses. So anybody that reads this....GET MEASUREMENTS BEFORE YOU BUY!!!! I am not sure if the original fits like the special edition or not. The billets on this saddle were also pretty stiff.
Quality: Construction and quality of this saddle are great. DEFINITELY worth the money. Super sturdy, durable yet soft leather, and beautiful!
Summary: The comfort of your horse should be priority when purchasing a saddle and this saddle definitely runs narrow. If your horse normally uses a medium tree, go for the wide. This saddle is secure, comfy, and attractive. The only thing I could say opposing other reviews on this saddle is that it does NOT feel broken in when new, but pretty hard. However, the leather's nice and I know it would break in fairly quickly to become a supple leather.
