I needed a tough waterproof turnout sheet that didn't rub my horses any where on their bodies.
Likes: Love the elastic strap idea for the neck. The double closure front helps keep horses warm. I have been using Hug blankets and sheets since 2003. Mostly sheets since I live in Texas and it seldom gets really cold down here and the cold doesn't last long. Have never liked traditional horse clothes since they always rubbed my horses especially on the shoulders. I hate my clothes binding and rubbing me the wrong way and I'm sure my horses do too. Have used Hug sheets on body clipped horses and unclipped horses through the winter months. My horses stay comfortable in these clothes and when they roll the clothes stay in place. Recently had to have some suturing done near the point of
my horse's shoulder. Thank goodness for Hugs. No rubbing on the sutures, no irritation and the area never got dirty. If it was too warm for the turnout sheet I simply used a soft Hug fly sheet. Most standard Hugs fit perfect. Occasionally there is the hard to fit individual.
I've had to have some customizing done on Hugs. The staff at Hug - Blanketnet.com is very accommodating and works with you so your horse gets the best fit. Where else can you get that kind of service ??
Dislikes: Wish the waterproof turnout sheet came in colors other than purple.
Quality: Very tough and durable. My horses wear the waterproof turnout sheets when wind chills are in the teens. They can come into the barn if they want to but prefer to stay outside when they have their Hug sheets on. Have never had any problems with stitching, straps or closures. No ripping or tears.
Summary: I think Hugs are a great buy for your money.
I don't buy any thing but Hugs for my horses.
I'm happy and they're happy. Hugs fit great with no rubbing. Try one, you'll be pleased.
Hugs come in a Friesian cut too. Just call and ask. No, I don't work for the Hug people. I'm just a satisfied customer.
