Category: Trail Saddles
Purchase: A small tack store, $225, I thought it would be an inexpensive alternative to a treeless saddle. I sold it to someone else within a week for the same price.
Likes: Price and weight. It is also very easy to clean. It is soft and squishy, better than a hard western saddle. You can use the stirrups while you ride.
Dislikes: It was very slippery on that hot day. It would not stay on my round horse, neither with nor without a saddle pad under it. It has a flexible plastic panel inside that made it want to flatten on my narrow horse and put too much weight on that horse's spine, it also felt very insecure because it would not conform to my horse. You can not mount with the stirrups. I do not tighten my girth so tight that my horses can not breathe. I do not need to with my saddles, I won't for a bareback pad.
Quality: It is well made with quality materials.
Summary: You can call this the nicest bareback pad on earth, but don't think for one minute that it is a saddle of any kind.
Usefulness Rating: 2.66667 out of 5.
