Purchase: I bought this because my little gelding is horribly slab-sided and can't keep a saddle in place at all going uphill. I quickly discovered this after buying him after sliding off his back end a few times and decided a breast collar needed to be bought. He is smaller (15 hand TWH. He needs arab/cob/pony size things normally) so I needed to find something that I could adjust tight enough and that would be comfortable for him. I bought this collar from Actionridertack.com for $119.
Likes: This is a very nice breastcollar! I am a BIG leather fan, one of those people that stops outside the leather coat store at the mall to breathe in that wonderful leather scent. So I was skeptical about the synthetic material. I checked around on prices and other reviews and found Zilco was a pretty well-trusted brand so far as quality. So I pressed that order button and it got here and I love it! the collar is padded and the padding material lubricates when the horse becomes sweaty so it doesn't rub them. The item description said arab/horse size and it fits! So it is very adjustable. It fits my small, lean gelding, but there is plenty of room to adjust it to a larger horse also. The synthetic material (I ordered plain 'ol black to match all my stuff... though glow-in-the-dark was oddly tempting...) is attractive and doesn't look cheap at all. I also LOVE that the strap over the wither has its own clip so you can just unclip everything without messing around tangling reins or lead ropes getting the collar over the head.
Dislikes: Nothing!
Quality: Very high quality, well made and looks like it will last a long time! Well worth the price!
Summary: I would definitely recommend it! It does not look cheap at all, like many other synthetics or nylon tack out there and is very well made and well designed for easy on/off and very adjustable.
