Purchase: Bought at KC Tack in Bridgeton NJ paid $1200+.
Likes: It was a pretty saddle.
Dislikes: The saddle was defective from the mfg. The skirting was mounted on the tree crooked. Billy Cook took 6 weeks to "fix" the saddle and re-mount the tree. When they sent the saddle back to the store, it is still crooked and seat is not straight.
Quality: Poor construction due to the crooked mounting of the skirting. Leather was so stiff it cut my hand. One stirrup was shorter than the other due to the crooked mounting and the fender didn't lay right. Seat was glued down and you can see the glue where the seat comes up. Poor quality in the assembly.
Summary: I know Billy Cook used to make a great saddle that is why I saved up and finally decided to buy one after 12 years. Billy must be using unskilled labor since the skirting was crooked, the stitching didn't line up and even his logo was on crooked! It is not worth the money or trouble to buy one of his saddles now. After 2 months without the saddle and my money, I am finally getting a refund from the store. Check out the saddle CAREFULLY and try it on your horse before you buy it. Looked good in the store, wasn't till I got it up on my horse and rode in it that I could see how crooked it was.
