Purchase: I bought this saddle for my TWH, as I had just got him, and of course, no saddle fits the new horse! I got it for $1100 on sale august '07 from the Gaits of Gold site.
Likes: It seems to be fairly well made. It is a good idea and I think fit my horse fairly well. The supracore padding is a nice touch and it is pretty. a good walking around saddle.
Dislikes: For the rider it is badly designed. the stirrups are set too far forward so your feet fly out in front of you as soon as you put weight in the stirrups. It encourages a chair seat. Luckily mine seems to have been made well, but the company has quality control issues. Also, the stirrup leathers are threaded up around the SADDLE TREE, so you should use safety irons with it. plus I would think it can damage the tree if the stirrup were to get stuck on something in an accident/flight from scary rock and not break right away.
Quality: Seems fairly well made, and is visually attractive.
Summary: I would not recommend if you go faster than a dog walk. This saddle threw me totally off balance and put me in a horrible chair seat because of the stirrup positioning. Also wouldn't want to risk getting a poor quality saddle, as many others seem to have gotten. Customer service tries to sell you more stuff to correct any problems you have with the saddle.
