Purchase: Travelled to Langley Bc where i found Bates Tack Shop. They are the only distributors of Arabian Saddle Company saddles in BC and probably in Canada.
After trying out many different saddles on my Arab/Saddlebred, I finally tried a Berkeley and it fit like a glove. My horse requires an extra wide tree and I had no trouble ordering him one. I payed 2800.00.
Likes: The Berkeley is made of soft leather which is comfortable the first time out. My horse has narrow withers and wide shoulders and the all purpose saddle I was using made it hard for him to go forward in a comfortable manner. With the Berkeley he moves freely and with confidence.
Dislikes: There is nothing I don't like about the Berkeley.
Quality: The Berkeley has a three position stirrup bar so you can adjust it to your leg and style. This saddle is close contact and has a cutback pommel for high withers. The best part for me is that it fits my horse perfectly and he and I are both comfortable with it.
Summary: I am looking forward to many happy days in this saddle. I ride just about every day rain, shine and even snow. I am sure this saddle will stand the test of time and I hope to write another review in 10 years and let you know how the Berkeley stands up.
