Purchase: I bought these shoes for $89.95 from Crazy Horse in August '07.
Likes: I like that I can wear chaps with these shoes and they look nice. I have an Aussie saddle that has thin stirrup leathers so I need half chaps. What I like ends there.
Dislikes: These shoes lack any ankle support what so ever. Because of the riding heel it is very easy to turn your ankle. I have really lost count how many sprained ankles I have had. These are the only shoes I have that I can wear half chaps with so I have been kind of stuck because of my budget.
They are also just basically UNCOMFORTABLE! I have a narrow foot and they still pinch like crazy. I hope anyone who has purchased these Dumas has had better luck than I have.
Quality: I wore these shoes two times and one of the eyelets tore off. I took them to a shoe repair place but it could not be fixed. Crazy Horse promptly exchanged them and I've had no other problems with the quality of the item.
Summary: I really do not recommend Ariat Dumas at all. If you are only wanting riding shoes for looks then they are ok but for functionality I would definitely skip them.
