Purchase: hi everybody! I bought the saddle from Dover Saddlery at their closeout sale that happens every year, it was new. I got the saddle for only $500. I got the saddle because I needed a saddle for my level of riding.
Likes: I love how comfortable the seat is. It is like sinking into a big, soft, comfy armchair. The way the saddle is made makes it a good all around saddle. It is excellent for jumping, the pommel of the saddle doesn't raise up too high. Also, the saddle is like a sponge when it comes to water. If, when cleaning the saddle, you use too much water, not to worry! The saddle soaks up the moisture and doesn't really dry out.
Dislikes: That was the good news, here's the bad:
the saddle doesn't break in as easily as most other saddles. You have to oil it like crazy to break it in, especially the billets! Also, it doesn't seem to perfectly fit a lot of horses. However, it fits well enough that I can use it on virtually all of the horse I ride. By the way, the saddle I have has a medium tree size.
Quality: The saddle is constructed very well. No wearing or tearing after all of the use I put it through. It has a lovely polished shine after you clean it. The saddle is very easy to clean. the quality of the leather is pretty good. The leather, after breaking in, is very soft and flexible.
Summary: All in all, this is a good saddle. It has a good price. The saddle would cost more, but the manufacturers are not well known. The saddle is a great buy!
