Purchase: I have a Rocky Mountain Horse who was near impossible to fit. I went through half a dozen saddles in as many months before I found this saddle. I found it advertised online and purchased it used from a private seller for $900. This saddle starts at $2100 new.
Likes: I love everything about this saddle! It has an adjustable drop rigging that I like with padding behind the girth rings to keep it from pinching. You wouldn't know this was a flex panel saddle just by looking at it. It is built like a regular saddle, with fleece on the bottom of the panels. It is perfect for a rounder flatter backed horse. I used the thinnest Tacky Too pad I could find under it and never had the first problem with slipping either. The leather is nice. The saddle has plenty of rings for tying on and saddle strings too. WONDERFUL Trail Glide stirrups are standard.
Dislikes: Not a thing!
Quality: The quality is very good. This saddle is approximately 8 to 10 years old and had seen very little use until I purchased it. It's got a super comfy seat, Trail Glide stirrups, very nice leather, and is well put together. It shows no fraying nor is it coming apart anywhere. Richard uses the older flex panels (system 2 I think) - he worked at Orthoflex during the time they were located in Nevada, MO - he knows what he's doing.
Summary: Next time I have to purchase I will go directly to the source. He really cares about his saddles and does his best to please his customers.
