Likes: This turnout arrived very quickly, and the 1200 denier material has held up very well after the first season. There are only a few tiny snags, none of which go all the way through the material. There is a snag on the inside lining just inside the outside seam from a playful tug by a pasture mate. This blanket is wonderful for temperature swings, from the 20's to the 60's, with absolutely no sweating or chilling. It is incredibly breathable and stays put, put, put! No shifting or binding. I love the detachable tail flap also. It is completely waterproof, and the drops on the sides are deep and give great coverage. The hardware is very nice and held up really well after the first season. It also is backed by a one year guarantee to replace or repair any damages.
Dislikes: The only real problems that I have with this blanket are that the size runs very large, about 2-3 inches larger than the size ordered. I ordered a 82 inch, and it measures 84.5 or so. Also, it says it has a nylon lining, but not a slick/shiny nylon lining, more of a soft cotton fabric. There is also a thick seam that divides the blanked into 2 colors, and this rests right on my Thoroughbred's point of shoulder. All of the hair was rubbed off his shoulders in about a week, as I waited for a shoulder guard to arrive. And for some reason, there was one long leg strap and one short- very annoying.
Quality: This is a very well made blanket, it really held up well despite my horse's best efforts to destroy it. I wish the nylon lining was slicker and that it didn't have a thick seam at the shoulder, but I can certainly take nothing away from the craftsmanship.
Summary: I absolutely love the fact that my horse never sweats in this turnout, and I don't have to stress over him getting too warm when to temps go from the 20's to the 60's throughout the day. It is very versatile, very strong, very breathable and I will certainly use it again next season, but with a shoulder guard from the get go! It is also a really nice value, with a one years guarantee.
