Purchase: I am a teen and have I have been taking lessons for 8years and leasing a horse for a while. I was wanting a saddle of my own. I had been looking on ebay for quite sometime and looking on different websites. I didn't want to spend more than $350 since this was my first saddle. I was picking up somethings at a local tack shop and found this saddle. I paid $250 for it. Plus the leathers and and irons for $30 dollars together. A sweet deal right??

Likes: The saddle was a size 16 1/2 and fits me great! I am not very tall and love to jump. I have been using it to jump 1 to 3 ft. The forward close contact seat is perfect. The leather is easy to grip with and even though it has no knee roles it makes you a better rider. I was riding before in a collegiate finalist and my coach said I have been riding in my saddle even better. The leather's quality is amazing! It looks lovely with a coat of saddle soap and conditioner. IT SHINES!! I got so many compliments at my barn and my friends love it! My coach said she had one when she was my age in the 70's. I even saw her saddle and ours together look the same they looked slightly used but I was not sure who the previous owner was. I am looking forward to many great years ahead. Maybe even passing it on to my children. Who knows?

Dislikes: I really wasn't very fond of the seat padding. It works fine and rides well but if i had to pick my negatives about the saddle that would be the top one. One day I was at the barn cleaning my saddle and and conditioned it very well and let it sit out for a few hours, and i put a towel on top to keep the dust off. The next day I found it moldy. It had rained fairly hard and I think it was the dampness of the barn. I was able to get it off but I wasn't very happy about that.

Quality: I was very pleased over all with this saddle. I believe its retail was around $700.00. I am amazed at the quality and how tough this saddle is. It can take any leather cleaner, polish, conditioner, warm or cold water. Remember to let it dry in a warm and dry area before putting it away. The color has not faded whatsoever. It has a spring tree and is in great condition. On the flaps on both sides there are rubs from the stirrup leathers but it does not affect how it rides. I do wish it was a little more padded. The seat's leather gets worn easier and since I am mainly a hunter jumper it is perfect for me. It was so easy to keep my leg on my horse and be able to stay balanced.

Summary: When saddle shopping keep in mind to try it on, ask on its previous conditions, users, types of riding it was used in. I would totally recommend this saddle/brand to any rider, whether beginner, novice, or intermediate. The following are qualities that I think this saddle is best suited for: hunter jumper, english pleasure, showing english, learning to ride, trail riding, and fairs. It rides like a crosby, bevel, or stubben. Looks a lot like a crosby (a very nice saddle)!!!! I am enjoying this saddle very much! Good luck shopping and I hope this review is very helpful to you. Thank you
