Purchase: I paid approximately $55 for this blanket on eBay, plus shipping. It was advertised as being waterproof.
Likes: The heavy canvas is adequate for our relatively mild winters in Arkansas. The cutback withers is great for my high-withered Thoroughbred and the blanket doesn't bind or slip.
Dislikes: The blanket is water-resistant, not waterproof, as it was advertised. The Wrangler rep I spoke with told me they were going to change their advertising for this blanket. The blanket absorbs water (though it doesn't soak through), making it very heavy when wet. Because of this weight, I haven't even tried to wash it.
Quality: One of the leg-strap dees broke the first day on the horse. When the TB got into a brawl with the Appaloosa, the Wrangler blanket was badly torn. (So I guess it's a good body protector, though not tearproof!) Once the weather warms up, I'm going to throw the blanket away rather than bother to repair it.
Summary: I wouldn't buy another one. I'd look for a waterproof rather than water-resistant blanket.
