Purchase: Purchased at my local tack shop for about $80. I bought it to be a show helmet, as my old helmet was a schooling style. I used it for many shows until my older helmet broke, so the Monaco became my full time choice.
Likes: I was really drawn to this product because a) it has a quality velveteen outside(for showing) and b) it is equipped with a dial-fit system,(mine is from small to medium) which allows for an amazingly customized fit! The dial system is well made and very discreet, which is essential in the show ring. It is also equipped with excellent ventilation strips, unlike many many other show helmets!
Dislikes: There is almost nothing I dislike about this helmet, except maybe that the chin strap is a tiny bit tricky to adjust, and the lose end tends to flap around a bit if not secured.
Quality: The inside, unlike many other show helmets, is made of a modern plastic, commonly seen on schooling helmets, that affords a greater comfort to the rider and allows for superior ventilation. The outside is an attractive velveteen, ideal for ANY competitive english discipline. I found it to be of excellent quality, and have never had a malfunction of break.
Summary: When using this product, I was always comfortable, cool and most importantly, my head was well protected.
