Purchase: I bought this saddle abouot 4 years ago for about 1800 euros.
Likes: The leather quality is superb- really the best you can get. I have had my saddle for 4 years and live in the tropics- which means my saddle is always in very humid conditions, and has gone through many heavy downpoors- (tropical rainstorms!). I will admit I do not like cleaning tack- usually I only clean it once every 4 weeks- and the leather quality is still very good- I have seen some other cheaper saddles literally rot away becuase the leather can not cope with the humid conditions.
The saddle fits my horse very well- and he is a hard to fit type- the saddle also seems to fit every other horse I have used it on.
I am very tall, so I like the long leg flaps, and for me personally the knee roll is just the right size. The saddle offers good support making it easy to sit on a bucking horse- but it does not restrict movement- it does not give the "locked" up feel I get when I ride in some other saddles.
Dislikes: For short riders the leg "flap" ( sorry forgot what its called)might be a bit long- but it is ideal for tall riders.
The seat could possibly be a bit softer, but you get used to it.
The price is on the high side, but it is worth the investment because this is a saddle which you can literally use the rest of your life due to the excellent leather quality.
Quality: As said above the quality is excellent- top of the range! As for construction, I would personally say the saddle is better suited for taller riders.
Summary: Excellent saddle, especially for taller riders. A saddle which also seems to fit hard to fit, high-withered type horse. Really worth every penny!
