Purchase: I purchased the FITS Full Seat Riding Breeches with a perforated deer-skin seat from Dover Saddlery and paid $199.90 for them.
Likes: FITS PerforMax Full Seat breeches are a medium weight breech with a seat made of perforated deer skin. The idea is to take the "tackiness or stickyness" of an all-leather full seat and make them a bit more flexible and comfortable (by perforating the leather). The FITS system IS MORE comfortable than a traditional full-leather seat breech. The breeches provide good "stick" to the saddle without being restrictive, so I recommend them. So many full-seat breeches don't provide better grip.
Dislikes: The micro-fiber material they use STAINS EASILY and because you should use Woolite or a detergent designed for leather-seat breeches, you've really got to spot clean before washing.
I chose to purchase the sand color--I don't think I'd shell out $200 for white competition breeches that'd be dirty/dingy so quickly (frankly, after one ride, my SAND breeches don't look competition ready either), but I'm sure using these as schooling breeches and ordering in WINE or BLACK is a better idea.
Quality: Again, the seat is perforated deer-skin--which makes for a comfortable ride with good grip. There is much less chafing as a result of the perforations.
The rest of the breech are "micro-fiber" (aka: not cotton).
Summary: I would highly recommend buying these as schooling breeches in a dark color--the stains won't show and you won't have to wash them as often, so they will last longer. I'm an event and dressage rider--I love these breeches for both disciplines.
If I had enough money to buy new white competition breeches regularly, I would love them at shows too (I just can't afford it!)
