Purchase: A lady at the barn I ride at was selling it, because she hadn't used it in years. She sold it to me cheap, she even said it was worth more, for 500 dollars. I know it is worth WAY more than what I paid for, probably in the 1500 range.
Likes: It's amazing! Works like a dream. It puts me in a great position, it fits almost all the horses I have ridden in it, one a Selle Francais with high withers, another a quarter horse and we all know what their withers are like, and a thoroughbred! All fit like a dream. The horses really responded well to it! One was very lethargic (the quarter horse, is it obvious?), didn't like moving very much, one ride with this saddle and he was doing an extended trot without any urging. The Thoroughbred and Selle Francais (both were gelded a little late, so they are a little high) started collecting! Amazing results!
Dislikes: It looks a little weird. To me it is a little long (The flaps are about a foot and a half long) and the seat is a little uncomfortable, but nothing anyone can't handle, or fix.
Quality: Amazing construction! It is in prestine condition, with a few minor blemishes. The owner before me had it for 12 years of constant use and it was sitting in the tack room for a year! That gives you an idea of how well it can hold up. Beautiful saddle as well, very nice. There isn't even any wear marks where my knee should be.
Summary: Perfect, well worth any kind of money you could pay for! If it is 5000 it's worth it! Your horse will automatically respond to its amazing design and the way it fits. Highly recommend!
