Purchase: Purchased this boot at Bootbarn (online) for $109.00 for general riding and working around the barn.
Likes: I got these because I wanted something that could really stand up well to bad weather and mud. Also liked the idea of a rubber sole with tread to grip the stirrup better than a leather sole.. these work well for both these things. The distressed leather is my "look", in other words, relaxed and comfortable.. "lived in".
Dislikes: "Relaxed and comfortable"??! HELP!...these are anything BUT that! The leather and fit are not working for me. They are hard to pull on over anything but a thin nylon sock. My instep is somewhat high and the leather is stiff.. not a good combo. Once they are on, they are still tight (even in a C width) and don't breathe. I'm a tough (and cheap) ole gal LOL, so I wear them anyway.. have had them 6 months or so, as they "are" good for riding but I take them off ASAP afterward!
Quality: The boots are well made with durable leather and soles.
Summary: Welllllll okay then.. Bottom Line? I guess what I will say is, folks.. fork up the cash and get yourself a pair of comfortable boots... at the tack store! There's nothing like a great pair of boots that are buttery soft and a pleasure to wear.. these "ain't it", for me anyway. I'll write another review in 6 months, after they have broken in (or broken me) a little more. The darn leather on these is so strong, they will probably be torturing me for a while before they wear out!
