Purchase: I bought this saddle "used" on consignment at our local tack shop, Tack Room Too. Although the saddle was being sold as "used" it was new and still had the tags on it. I paid $1500, which was a great deal, and the only reason that I was able to afford a Prestige!
Likes: I absolutely LOVE it! Prestige saddles are hand made in Italy with lovely, soft, quality leather. The stitching and details make this saddle really stand out and I have had many comments from people about how pretty the saddle is. It is very well balanced, and make keeping a correct position easy both over fences and during flat work. It is the only close contact/jumping saddle that I have been able to successfully sit the trot in (and not regret in the next day)!
It fits the horse really well with a nice wide gullet for comfort. The width of Prestige saddle trees can be altered by certain saddlers, this is a nice feature that would allow you to use the saddle for many different horses.
Dislikes: The only down side is the the leather is so butter soft that it tends to wear and show wear marks quickly. I think this is somewhat unavoidable if you want soft leather. I would recommend conditioning the leather regularly to protect it from potential wear. Other then this I think this saddle is definitely one of my favorites.
Quality: Super quality! Soft buttery leather is totally east to break in. Beautiful stitching. Love it!
Summary: I would recommend this saddle to anyone who can afford one (or is lucky enough to find one that they can!). It fits the horse really well, fits the rider really well with a balanced position and is super comfortable. A+ 5 star saddle!
