Purchase: I have done business with Steve Edwards for years. I had a heavy duty mule saddle that was a bit much for a donkey I ride. Steve suggested the Trail Lite and I purchased it for approximately $800
Likes: I watched Steve research his tree years ago. From what I know about mules a lot of problems come from ill-fitting saddles and I know he has his tree correct. The unit is very light and appears to be sturdy
Dislikes: Nothing - it is what I expected
Quality: Cordura and leather, some very high impact plastic to lighten (stirrups for instance). The quality of all parts appears superior to most light weight saddles I have seen.
Summary: I think anyone who works with mules or donkeys is darned lucky to have someone who cared enough about saddle fit to stick with it until a near perfect mule tree was developed. I have owned saddles from nearly every manufacturer that claims "mule trees" and Steve's fit much better than any on nearly every mule/donkey
