Purchase: I special ordered these leathers from my local tack store for $89. I had bought nice matching leathers for my new saddle, but was spoiled on my Wintec Webbers that I had been using on my synthetic saddle and didn't want the extra bulk. I wanted leather webbers for schooling, and I now save my matching leathers for shows.
Likes: Mostly, the lack of bulk under my leg. I feel much more connected with my horse and it's very comfortable when I'm in the saddle for long periods of time. For anyone who hasn't seen webbers before, they have a small loop at the top (rather than the buckle and double-thick strap) that goes around the stirrup bar. At the bottom, it loops around to hold the stirrup. These leathers are very easy to use and easy to adjust, even while you're in the saddle. They also have a nylon core to keep from stretching and a piece of leather that covers the "buckle" part that holds the stirrup on, preventing it from scratching your saddle.
Dislikes: I wish they came in more colors! They do not match my saddle at all (they only come in black and tobacco). I only use them for schooling though, so I don't mind that they don't match. Also, the piece of leather that protects the saddle is a little long, making it slightly difficult to dress the stirrups. And it was MIGHTY tough to get my stirrups onto these leathers the first time.
Quality: Very well-made. Quality leather, which is neatly and securely stitched over a nylon core. I expect these leathers to last for years and years.
Summary: Overall, I am exceedingly happy with these leathers. I only wish they made them in more colors!
