Purchase: I bought this blanket from horsetackco.com on sale for $260. (yes $260 was a steal for this blanket!!)It shipped slow, due to being on back order
Likes: ALMOST EVERYTHING!!!! It repels wind, rain, snow, sleet you name it, your horse will be dry and toasty underneath. It came with the hood. My horse is very destructive, and broke his stall one morning when the weather was really bad and they all stayed in. Needless to say, i had to put him outside for the day till the door got fixed. It rained, snowed, and sleeted that day, i felt like such a bad mother. When i came out to see him he was totally dry under his hood and blanket, water was just rolling off him like nothing. I also went out to bring him in one day when the weather was real cold and snowy. He had icicles hanging from his hood, and blanket but wasn't cold at all. I just LOVE this blanket. I never had to pull out is HW blanket once this year. I just laid a fleece underneath and what LA super warm horse :) Unlike the rest of the boarders i never had to hang it up to dry or switch it out because it got wet!!
Dislikes: I have 2 little issues. One, the tail flap please please please make it longer. (love the tail cord though!!) Two, when the hood is attached it seems to make the blanket shift about 3inches up. Those leaving a very exposed backside. My horse is a 75 in rambo(78-81 in the cheaper amigo) and the hood is a M. I believe that he just needs a larger hood and everything would be fine. The hood itself fits a little too snug so i will be purchasing a larger one.
Quality: EXCELLENT!! Repels everything, LOVE THE BALLISTIC NYLON fits GREAT - I have a hard fitting horse who can not wear weatherbeeta's. This blanket does not rub at all, for once my horse had NO shoulder or chest rubs!! The stoppers are great, the 3rd surcigle is GREAT and they never come undone. I LOVE not having leg straps!!!!
Summary: TOTALLY worth the price. I will admit, they don't fit ALL horses the same. Fits my 15.3 Appendix AWESOME. Def worth it knowing that my horse is protected from all the elements of a New York winter!!
