Purchase: I bought one new in 1988 for $800 - bought one used off ebay this year for $400. They are $1200 new right now.
Likes: Even if you don't play polo, this is a great saddle to school your horses in, especially green horses where you'd like more security than the typical little hunt saddle provides. It feels extremely secure and solid on the horse. It has a much deeper seat than your typical close contact saddle, yet it doesn't have a big knee roll that prevents you from putting your leg on the horse. The high cantle makes it a perfect fit on even the boniest withers. What's more, these saddles last forever. I've frequently ridden in ones that were 40+ years old and still extremely serviceable. They do spread a bit with age but they don't fall apart. Super high-quality and comfortable saddle.
Dislikes: As referenced above, with age, they do spread and will not fit as narrow of a horse - but when I say age, I'm talking 20+ years.
Quality: No complaints at all - English made, top quality leather and solid stitching that holds up to hard use.
Summary: My favorite saddle that I have ever ridden in. Comfortable, secure, well balanced and you can practically run over it with a truck!
