Purchase: I got this saddle just over a year and a half ago and i still love it. I paid $1700 from the internet, never tried one on my horse and it fit perfectly. I've since use it on the same horse and about 10 others and it has fit them all perfectly as well.
Likes: I really love how comfortable it is, its great dressage an jumping (I've jumped 4 feet in it despite the very deep seat). Its a nice balance with the seat for dressage and the flap for jumping. Nice job Bates.
Dislikes: This saddle tends to seat your leg a tad to far forward and makes it fairly difficult to get it back (and no its not just me 3 other people at my barn have one and all have the same problem.
Quality: Stitching and everything has held up wonderfully. The leather is wonderful quality and barley needs any oil when first received (I only did one coat and haven't had to do another).
Summary: Overall great all purpose and seems to fit well on all horses. VERY comfortable!
