Purchase: i run beach rides and some of my horses are just not doing well with regular synthetic saddle witherwise. i bought a cashel saddle online hoping that would help the problem. i paid about $300 if i remember well. I bought one, just to test it out.
Likes: It's comfortable for the rider.
Dislikes: I put it on 3 of my horses. I rode them all twice for 1 1/2 our each and they all had a RAW WITHERS!!!!! I wrote the manufacturer to let them know and I wrote different distributors, and it saddens me that that saddle is still out there for sale! the neoprene or whatever that saddle is made of gets extremely hot when the horse is being exercised and I suppose that is what irritate the skin of the horse. I tried to use an English saddle pad underneath and it didn't change anything. i dislike this saddle very much and am not using it anymore. I am glad I didn't get more than one!
Quality: The skirt of the saddle is thick and it feels like your leg is so far away from the horse. There is no true contact between the leg and the horse. Too bad for a saddle that is advertised as a good English saddle replacement; it changes your whole position.
Summary: I would not recommend this product at all. The 3 horses that I used it on all had different types of withers: high and low. it just rubbed their withers raw.
