Purchase: I paid around $130.00 for this pad from discounthorse.com.
Likes: This pad is tough. It has been used now for 2 years and has little sign of wear, mainly just discoloration from being on the horse. I was a little apprehensive about spending the money on this pad due to how cheap their SMX Air Ride Pads turned out to be. This one was thicker and better made. The navajo wool has not torn or unraveled. The merino wool lining on the underside wicks away sweat and has been cleaned with a vacuum after every ride and is still piled and soft. This pad has yet to compress even after 700 hours of riding time. Does not slip like the original air ride pad.
Dislikes: It is stiff above the withers and looks like it would feel awkward to my horse with the saddle set on top but she has never shown any signs of discomfort. I used to ride her in a cut back pad, so maybe it's just me... but it looks stiff along the topline.
Quality: Well constructed, has survived 2 years of use and abuse and vacuuming.
Summary: I am going to purchase another, as I am satisfied with the life of the product and the cost.
