Purchase: I bought this pad at my local tack store because I needed a western pad and I really like the look of it, and I liked the fact it was non-slip. I paid around $62 for it.
Likes: I like the fact that it won't slip around and it gives a decent amount of clearance in the gullet area for withers, that's important to me. The design of the pad (a navajo type of pattern) is really attractive and I wouldn't be embarrassed to take it into the show ring. It's easy to clean/dry, just leave it open for a little bit and it dries up, you can either hose it or use a brush to get hair out; it doesn't really attract that much hair even in shedding.
Dislikes: It leaves an odd weave pattern on the horse's back, which kind-of freaks me out. The pad does pull hair out if it moves, even though it's supposed to stay put I feel that it must do some hard work to stay put. It also leaves a long mark of sweat from the horse which is both good and bad since you know it doesn't keep it on the horse but makes them a little less appealing after a long ride.
Quality: It has decent construction, just keep it tucked away from mice- they destroyed a small section of the bottom by eating it. The top is long-lasting and the reinforced areas are up to par.
Summary: I like it despite it's few drawbacks although I don't think I'll buy another one if the time ever comes. I wouldn't mind recommending someone to buy it though.
