Manufacturer: Team Equine
Model: TE Therapeutic Extreme Saddle Pad
Category: Western Saddle Fittings/Pads

Purchase: Seen a booth at the annual Horse Expo event. The Demo the sales person had presented was not only impressive, it was very informative and showed just how this saddle pad could help with the problem I was having with saddle slipage. They had several different styles with many choices of inserts making it useful on many types of horses. I paid $99 for this New Zealand Wool 34x36 pad with the mid range 5/8" insert.

Likes: This pad did what I needed it to do. It stopped my saddle from rolling, slipping side to side and I no longer need to "gut" my horse by cinching up the saddle so dog gone tight. The pad I purchased was all wool and has a removeable closed cell foam insert. The pad itself has many options, I think there was 5 or 6 different thickness' of inserts to choose from. I picked the one which fit my rounded back horse the best. I also love the way the insert comes out and makes the outer shell easily cleaned. It is a beautiful array of earth tone colors which match my sorrel horse to a T. It has something else that I was TOTALLY impressed with. This pad has nylon wear "leathers" so when the covering is washed the nylon will wear much better than the cheap suede or thin leather wears normally seen on other pads.

Dislikes: I am a fan of the larger oversized blankets. The pad I purchased is a 34x36" but would have much rather have had the larger 36x36 size but it is not available. I also would have like to have a solid color however they did not have the tan color I wanted in stock at this show. I did not want to travel to the main store to get one nor did I want to have it shipped to me as I had a show to attend the following day and wanted to try this pad.

Quality: Like I said this is made from New Zealand Wool and it is a nice and tighly woven with an opening at the rear of it so the insert can come out and switched to a different thickness if needed. Also they had shims available to fill in the spots that need attention on some horses. Eye for detail was observed when making this pad. Top knotch all the way around. I also like the many options that are available with this pad. Many sizes of inserts, dozens of styles and makes of fabrics available. Almost to many choices for the uninformed rider.

Summary: Super Pad, best in $$$ value, options to fit many horses and I LOVE the fact that the TE Therapeutic Extreme Pads removeable inserts can be made to fit horses like mine ROUND MUTTON WITHERED or the high withered or even hollow backed or horses with sore back issues. Unlike the other higher priced production made pads on the market that are all the same. The others only come in one cookie cutter style. The group at Team Equine really wants there pad to fit the horse. I am impressed with the quality, aoptions availale, color choices and the price was less that most of the other major brands I have purchased in the past and did not work. This pad did the trick where other pads had failed. It is worth checking out. I am sure you will be as impressed as I am with it
