Purchase: I bought these to replace my previous pair which had lasted me 5 years. I bought them on sale at Horseman's Outlet in NJ for about $80.
Likes: They are very durable and broke in very quickly. I have oiled them a total of two times in about 10 months of owning them. The toes are very thick.
Dislikes: After ten months of rigorous use, they have ZERO foot support left. I wore them most of the day and was barely able to walk about two hours before the end of my day due to pain.
Quality: Construction and quality live up to the Ariat name, but don't expect perfection for their lower line products. My old pair had cracks in the leather where the foot flexes but this can be prevented with diligent oiling. I have yet to puncture the sole with anything and it has not peeled off like others have experienced.
Summary: These boots are perfect for someone who does not plan to spend day after day wearing them. If you do, upgrade to Cobalts (which I plan to do...HO has 20% off coupons...Cobalt XRs have my name written on them) and they will be well worth the money.
