Purchase: I had This Saddle Built for me By John Rettig of AMTS. I have tough to fit Walking Horses. The base price on this saddle was $895.
Likes: John worked with me on building this saddle through many phone calls, picture emails, and discussions to determine just what type saddle tree and configuration would work best for my Walkers.
This Saddle is very comfortable for both the horse and rider. My main concern is getting the best fit for my horse. This saddle fits not only the horse We designed it for but also fits another of my horses.
The leather quality and craftsmanship is A+. No loose ends or sloppy stitching. Stirrup were of the wide trail design and of light composite material covered in leather, color is a dark Mahogany with barbwire edge tooling.
Dislikes: There is nothing I do not like about this saddle as it was not put into production until both John and I were satisfied that everything was just right.
Quality: As stated Leather quality is very good. It is a bit thicker and more supple than on a lot of saddles I have ridden. One oiling and no squeaks!!!!!! The saddle is made on Ed Steel's Gaited Flex Tree and is put together with the appropriate screws, rivets, and stitching, everything is symmetrical, no odd shapes.
