Category: Jumping Saddles
Purchase: I purchased this saddle from a local tack shop for $1999. The shop had custom ordered it for another client, but it ended up not fitting her horse.
Likes: Barnsby makes a great saddle! It has a nice deeper seat, but it is very balanced unlike all of the all-purpose saddles I tried. I'd always had a close contact saddle, but I do a lot of trail riding in steeper country and wanted a bit more support. Knee blocks are perfectly placed and the calf blocks are nice, too. Leather broke in nicely and is a beautiful dark havana color. Tree size is perfect on my mare. Flaps and seat fit my legs very well.
Dislikes: Honestly, nothing. Only minor gripe is that I can see a few of the saddler's markings where the panels were assembled/attached. As I said, that is being REALLY picky, after all, it is a handmade saddle.
Quality: Awesome leather and nice stitching. A quality, handmade piece. Barnsby wouldn't still be making saddles if they made an inferior product!
Summary: Love this saddle. Fits me and my horse very well.
