Purchase: I wanted a light-weight western full skirt/ cantle roll saddle for casual trail riding and found out about Outfitter's Supply in Montana. Both O.S. and Tucker were very helpful in guiding me as I had never even seen a Tucker on a horse. I paid $1800 for it and the wait was approximately 6 weeks.
Likes: I love the fact that this saddle fits my hard-to-fit horse very well; it's a WIDE tree, and is very comfortable for me. I'm 56 years old so I want and need lots of comfort. Oh, and did I forget to mention...it's pretty light weight and only 24" long!
Dislikes: The only thing that I don't like is the plastic bar on the stirrup..yuk! It makes a horrible squeak, but hey, that's something that I can work around!
Quality: The construction of the saddle seems to be perfect, but in all honesty, the leather was quite stiff and I've bee working hard at softening it. Still, that has not impaired my riding or reduced the comfort at all. Maybe that just means that the saddle will be around until I die...LOL!
Summary: I'd like to recommend the Cheyenne Springs model for anyone looking for a well-made, comfortable, and nice looking saddle. I'm very glad that I got it at this stage in my life. Thank you Tucker and Outfitter's Supply!
