Purchase: I bought this saddle for $899 two years ago. I purchased the saddle through Dover Saddlery
Likes: I have had Crosby's, Pessoa's and ridden in countless other high end brand name saddles and by far the Dover Circuit beats them all. I love the way it broke in almost instantly and the regular gullet, which is actually a little wider than normal fits everything that I put it on. I am a trainer and work with horses of every shape and size and this fits everything perfectly! My students who ride in it don't want to ride in anything else since they say it's so comfy and easy to ride in. The sculpted knee rolls give me a very secure feel when working with green horses or horses who are being saddle broke. I ride in my saddle every day and usually ride 2-3 horses a day and I wouldn't trade it for another.
Dislikes: The rep. at Dover told me I wouldn't need to oil this since they no longer put shipping wax on saddles, that's not true. Since I didn't oil it first, it did take a little longer to get darker as it was almost an orange color when it came. Now it is a great deep brown color and perfect!
Quality: Wonderful leather normally seen only on saddles starting at 2k. Great construction and well put together.
Summary: I wouldn't trade this saddle for the world and am actually purchasing a Circuit Elite EQ for something more appropriate for the hunter ring. Don't let the fact that the Circuit's are a store brand or the low price stop you. These saddles are easily worth twice their price.
