Purchase: I got a pair of these boots in Eastern Canada from a farm that was importing them directly from Switzerland, but they are available in many places today. I paid $75/boot.
Likes: For the horses they fit, they are excellent. The shape of the foot is critical. The Swiss boot is light weight. These boots fit somewhat narrow feet, not big round feet like Old Macs or Boa boots fit. I use 4 different kinds of hoof boots, and Swiss boots perfectly fit one of my (seven) horses. They don't make a clumping sound when you ride with them. They fit quite tightly when correctly fitted, so they are not prone to getting mud or sand inside. They have never sored my horse. Just hose them out to clean.
Dislikes: They are quite hard to put on and take off. I have to use a hammer to get them on, and a hoof pick or screwdriver to pull them off.
Quality: The quality is excellent. I've been using them over all kinds of terrain for 8 years now, and although the bottoms are scuffed, otherwise they are unchanged.
Summary: I have bought 4 of these boots for one of my horses, and if I ever lost one I would replace it. It seems to be one of the few boot designs that will fit an oval foot.
