Purchase: I bought this item from my local equestrian store as my horse appeared to be extremely irritated by the flys and is also a grey with pink patches of skin, therefore wanted some VU protection also. I paid £35 for the full rug
Likes: I like the tough and almost rigid weave, it helps the neck to stay upright and not wrinkle down. The neck joint has a stretchy section allowing the neck piece to constantly stay in place when the horse puts their head down, rolls etc, it also has a velcro strap at the top which you can put round the head collar or fly mask in between the ears to help secure the neck and hold it up. The chest and mane area is lined inside preventing rubbing. It has a belly section secured underneath the rug with velcro, which holds extremely well and looks very neat, but does not seem big enough for my Irish Draughts tummy! Although fits my Thoroughbred fine. The rug hangs very long down the body and does stay in place. It is also machine washable. It has also protected both my grey and my bay from the UV rays, neither seem overly hot.
Dislikes: The mesh is slightly too hard and not very soft, so does rub slightly in certain areas, although as it is so thick and strong it does prevent the flies.
Quality: Very tight, thick, strong weave. Not very soft. Comes in white with grey binding. Black lycra stretch joining the neck to the sheet. Not a detachable neck. Velcro closure and double straps at the chest, velcro and plug closure on neck, single surgigle and velcro attachment for belly guard, leg straps. Has a long and very wide tail guard.
Summary: I feel this product is good value for money, it is a good design and has definitely made my horses turn out time more enjoyable.
