Purchase: I purchased it brand new from Dover Saddlery for $399.
Likes: I love the position it puts me in, the overall appearance, the construction of it, the features it comes with (mainly Thorowgood's Fish system, Thorowgood Changeable Gullet Bar System, wide channel) - everything about it is really nice. I have only used it on a wide paint mare (very wide, all x-wide gullets were too narrow, and she needed a 36cm tree), and it fits perfectly with the xx-wide gullet installed. The other gullets you can purchase seem to get pretty narrow, so I am guessing it fits a very wide range of horses. I think it is much better than Wintec's - it puts me in a better position, is comfier, and is cheaper!
Dislikes: This isn't a dislike about the saddle itself, but the fact I can't find any additional information on it - it isn't even on Thorowgood's website. Also on Dover's website, the description of this saddle does not include that it has the Fish system.
Quality: Everything looked to be in very good, strong, sound condition.
Summary: I was a little worried purchasing it because I couldn't find any extra information on it, and couldn't find any reviews on it, but I am glad I took the chance - I am more than pleased. It is extremely affordable - don't be scared off because of how cheap the price is, the quality and what you get should make this saddle be priced at much more. I like this saddle way more than the Wintec's I have tried (2000 and Close Contact). I have sat in multiple leather saddles (ranging from Collegiate to County's and Jaguars), and really love this Thorowgood! Who would have thought? ;)
