Purchase: I had previously always ridden with a western saddle or bareback. Much to my dismay, my daughter did not like western - anything. I did not "know" english, nor did I own any english tack...so I ended up taking her to english riding lessons at a hunter jumper stable. And, then we got her her own horse - which meant I had to buy all "new" tack. So, I bought her the County saddle in question, with knee rolls (I believe they can be purchased w/o knee rolls, but of this I am not certain). Out of simple curiosity, I decided to take a short ride in the saddle just to see how it "rode". The second my bum hit this saddle I was shocked and amazed at the extreme comfort and "balance" of it. I was even shocked at myself for liking it so much!
I liked the saddle SO much I actually switched to riding english most of the time! I have since sat in other english saddles....and had those "others" been the first english saddle I had sat in...I would still be sitting in a western saddle whilst on horseback.
I bought this saddle - which is well used -on Ebay for around $300.
Likes: EVERYTHING. This saddle is extremely comfy. It really does put you exactly where you should be.
It is so well designed that I believe that if a rider has this saddle...he/she is as set as he/she can be tack wise...and everything else is just a matter of riding ability.
Dislikes: Nothing.
Quality: I love everything about the construction and quality of this saddle. It extremely well designed and constructed.
The leather is unbelievably buttery soft.
This saddle (the one I purchased) is really quite old...very, very well used...yet still going strong with no tears, loose stitching, or cracks! Now THATS quality!!
Summary: Today, I would not consider purchasing anything OTHER than a County saddle.
