Purchase: I got this saddle new from Greenhawk for about $1000 four years ago. My particular size is a 17.5'
Likes: The only thing I really like about this saddle is, although the leather is crappy, it shines up really easily with a bit of saddle soap. Also, it pitched the weight on to the shoulders, which is not normally a good thing, but my horse likes it better then a properly fitting saddle, as he has a bad back.
Dislikes: I really do not like this saddle. The leather is poor quality, and needs a lot of work to look decent. The seat is very very shallow, which I do not like. It is also very hard, with no padding whatsoever. The main issue I have with the saddle, though, is that I still (after four years) have not been able to find a properly fitting saddle pad, which is quite a nightmare, as you can imagine.
Quality: The saddle seems to be holding up well, I have had it for four years with no rips or tears. It is quite faded from the stirrup rubs, however.
Summary: So, I don't recommend the saddle. If you do get it, maybe borrow one to have a test on to see if you like it first. I know some people who LOVE the rock hard shallow seat. ha ha. :)
