Purchase: I bought this pad brand new on ebay for $134 (there aren't any tack stores that carry them around here). I needed a saddle pad for my second saddle.
Likes: Even though this was meant to be my "second" saddle pad, it quickly has become my first choice to ride in. I like how well the contoured shape fits my horse. My other pad is a Professional's Choice SMX Air Ride pad, and it is very nice, but I feel like this pad fills in the hollows behind my horse's withers a bit better. My saddle fits great with both pads, but I really like the densely packed felt on the underside...it sheds sweat and hardly feels wet after a long hot ride, even though my horse is soaked.
Dislikes: The contour fits great over the withers, but the cut is a bit funny toward the rear of the pad, such that it doesn't drape over the horse's back, rather it sticks out in the corners a little. This does not bother me at all, but it might bother some people.
Quality: Quality is excellent...great cushioning, the wool top is tightly woven and nice. The felt underside is very dense.
Summary: I really like this pad. After actually purchasing nice quality pads like these new Professional's Choice and Classic Equine pad, there is now way I could ever go back to using the cheap ones.
