Purchase: Purchased from Mary's Tack for about $25.00 per pair. I purchased 2 pair for complete leg coverage.
Likes: Where they actually fit the horse, they keep the flys from bothering the horse. I like the new design which eliminated the extra long straps and made them easier to work with.
Dislikes: In re-designing the fly guards from a previous version, the company reduced the height of the Warmblood size by about 4 inches. What were they thinking? They are way too short. If a fly lands on the part of the leg that the boot doesn't cover, the sensitive horse (and isn't that why you need the fly guards in the first place?), will stomp their legs. They are pretty much useless. I don't understand why the company made the wraps shorter than their previous version, they are worthless - in my opinion.
Quality: The quality is excellent, the construction is fine. The mesh is effective at keeping flys off the leg, the elastic and Velcro is fine. The problem is that the wrap is too short. The shaped fetlock helps keep the boot in place, but the coverage is not effective.
Summary: I hope Cashel continues to try to fix the problems with these wraps/guards. I don't know of another company that makes a Warmblood size. However, even though the circumference of the boot is correct for a Warmblood's leg, the height deficiency is so bad that the leg guards are not worth purchasing. I'm returning mine.
