Purchase: I got this bridle on sale on the local tack store. I believe it was $40, or something like that.
Likes: I love everything about the bridle. It doesn't require cleaning or conditioning often, like most bridles do.
Dislikes: The sizing is a bit odd. I accidentally grabbed a cob bridle, instead of the horse size. That was a good thing, since it fits her giant head perfectly. The only bad thing is that the throat latch is way too short, so I had to punch a hole in the end. Works fine though...
Quality: I did hard riding in it for a year, with no cleaning or conditioning what so ever. I finally cleaned it up a few weeks ago, and am shocked. It looks brand new! There is no loose stitching anywhere, and no scratches at all. I think the reins might have been stretched out a lot, but I figure it's because they took a beating every time I rode until my mare learned that she could hold up her own head and not fight with me.
I haven't had any dye problems. that's probably because I've only cleaned it once in the year or two that I've owned it.
Summary: For the price it's a really great bridle! Heck, it's held together much better than the more expensive $100 ones. As long as you don't mind slightly stiff leather, and you have no compulsive tack oiling behaviors, this is a great bridle. Clean it once a year, and oil it once a year, and I'm thinking it'll last for years to come.
