Purchase: Purchased from Blazing Trails (internet retailer) for about $200. This is the 1/2 inch 100% wool pad, not the wool felt.
Likes: 100% wool is great. It absorbs sweat. This pad fits very well on the Tucker Plantation saddle. I have the enduro-balanced double tie (crossfire) rigging, and it covers the leather straps so that they don't rub straight on the horse and potentially weaken from sweat.
Dislikes: The pad worked great for the first couple of months. Then, it seems like the gel got crushed down or stiff. My mare that never complains about anything would get really tight and nasty about 30-60 minutes into a ride. I had my holistic vet check the saddle fit, and she said that the saddle was spot on. Then I rode my mare in a plain wool saddle pad (1/2" thick), and she was great again. That tells me it was the pad.
Quality: The appearance is great, and it appears to be well constructed. I love the 100% wool, but I don't like the gel at all.
Summary: The Impact Gel pad had a negative impact on my horse.
