Purchase: I purchased this at our local tack store for $16.95 for a 460g/16.2oz container. I had just gotten a new bridle that was a lovely brown color and I did not want the color to darken as with neatsfoot oil. My other cleaners didn't help make the leather more supple.
Likes: I love the way the leather responds to this conditioner. It gets a touch darker when initially applying the product, but dries the original color. The conditioner feels like a cream and rubs onto the leather with a feel similar to that of rubbing margarine on it. All the leather I've used it on responds very quickly, becoming more supple. It also has a beeswax in it and waterproofs the leather. You only need a very minimal amount to affect the leather so a little goes a long way, which offsets the price.
Dislikes: I have many allergies and this conditioner gives me hives if it comes in contact with my skin. (It works so well I just went to wearing gloves to apply it). The smell is very fragrant (also bothers my allergies). Neither of these bother my husband who prefers this smell to saddle soap and neatsfoot oil, and everyone else in the barn thinks it smells great and softens their hands while they're at it! It is a bit expensive.
Quality: It comes in small tubs, a couple different sizes. It's made in Australia and contains tee tree oil, eucalyptus oil, emu oil, bees wax, and Lanolin. It buffs off to a nice shine, or looks good without polishing. It does melt if it is stored in too warm a barn, but hardens up again when cooled.
Summary: I love this stuff, it's worth powering through my allergies to have its effects on leather. I might never use neatsfoot oil again.
