SLK Ultima
Dressage Saddles

Manufacturer: Albion
Model: SLK Ultima
Category: Dressage Saddles

Purchase: I had gone to a saddle fitting clinic to get my jump saddle fitted and I was on the lookout for a new dressage saddle (my trainer has an SLK Ultima) and I asked to saddle fitter to bring some to try. I tried 12 different saddles and I kept coming back to the Albion. I ended up paying $3200 for the saddle which was great because they retail for $3500. It was only slightly used (you could not even tell).

Likes: I absolutely love the saddle. It allows you to sit correctly and I never feel like I am fighting the saddle. The seat is deep enough (I have the Low Head model) but not so deep that i feel I have to post up instead of forward. Sitting trot is so easy and the knee blocks remind my leg to stay underneath me. The leather is super soft and supple and is not showing any signs of wear and tear (and I ride up to three horses a day in it).

Dislikes: My saddle has not shown any inclination to do this, but I have heard that the Albion saddles tend to lose their color after years of use. My trainer's Albion is pretty faded.

Quality: A+ quality. The stitching is super tight and shows no weaknesses. The leather is strong yet soft and the saddle just seems to sit right on every horse.

Summary: I would totally recommend the SLK Ultima to anyone.
